Those Women

The Night

The night falls

The gloom rises

Far into the memories

You heard my vows.

Tears ain’t fill the loss

Only grieve all my faults

If, if, of…

I wasn’t away that long.

Fat Pink PJ Girl

Friday, February 12th, 2010

Did two drawings of my cousin this afternoon. Just felt she looked funny in this fat pink PJ.

What about me? Feeling shit coming back from the project for holiday knowing there’s still much work undone. And couldn’t feel more shit knowing I’m booked onto another project in March for a whole month. Shit!

My Colleagues (Continued)

Sunday, December 27th, 2009

The only joyful chance to do art with my job is to draw my colleagues while we are working together. It is quick, meaningful and satisfying.

Commissioned illustration for Ivy

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

My colleague Ivy was asking me to drawing a series of illustration about the romantic experience of her and her boyfriend as a present for his birthday. It was a lovely idea and I felt the sweetness when reading the story lines she wrote me. She wanted something simple. Here are some of them. I’m glad she and her boyfriend both like the work. I wish them a continuing happy relationship.

Illustration for "Annabel Lee"

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

P1170094a, originally uploaded by rgmu11.
I fell in love with this poem when the first time I came across it. It’s a sad and romantic poem telling of a man’s everlasting love for his young dead wife. Many of Poe’s poems talk about the death of beautiful women. I’ve done some drafts to illustrate. Here are two finished pieces. I think I need advice and feedback.

Annabel Lee

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea:
But we loved with a love that was more than love —
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged
seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsmen came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a
sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me —
Yes! — that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we —
Of many far wiser than we —
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever
dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee:

For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling — my darling — my life and my bride,
In her sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

Once Scene 3

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

This is another scene from Once, when the girl sang out her sadness in a dark piano room. The guy dazed at her feeling deeply…

P1090045, originally uploaded by rgmu11.

She expressed her sadness through her song, her sorrow from inside for not being understood by her husband.
“I’m sitting here weeping while the hours pass so slow
And I know that in the mornin’ I have to let you go
And you’ll be just a man once I leave to know
For these past few days someone I don’t recognize ”
She couldn’t finish the song, stopped by sobbing.

Looking up the hill tonight
When you have closed your eyes
I wish I didn’t have to make all those mistakes and be wise
Please try to be patient and know that I’m still learning
I’m sorry that you have to see the strength inside me burning

Where are you now, angel now
Don’t you see me crying
And I know that you can’t do it all
But you can’t say your not trying
I’m on my knees in front of him
But he doesn’t seem to see me
But all his troubles on his mind is looking right through me
And I’m letting myself down deciding is falling you
And I wished that you could see I have my troubles too

Lookin’ at you sleeping
I’m with a man I know
I’m sitting here weeping while the hours pass so slow
And I know that in the mornin’ I have to let you go
And you’ll be just a man once I leave to know
For these past few days someone I don’t recognize
This isn’t all my fault
When will you realize

Lookin’ at you leavin’
I’m looking for a sign

Once Scene 2

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009
Once Series, originally uploaded by rgmu11.

The film doesn’t tell their names. They are just “Guy” and “Girl” in the film. They met each other through music. This scene was when they played and sang together for the first time. The girl took the guy to the shop she worked for part-time and showed him the piano she had been dreaming for( also the one the guy bought her later on before he left). Then here came the beautiful song- Falling Slowly

Listen here: http://www.songtaste.com/song/148251/

I don’t know you
But I want you
All the more for that
Words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can’t react
And games that never amount
To more than they’re meant
Will play themselves out

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We’ve still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You’ve made it now

Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can’t go back
Moods that take me and erase me
And I’m painted black
You have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It’s time that you won

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We’ve still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice
You’ve made it now
Falling slowly sing your melody
I’ll sing along

Once Scene 1

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

This is from one of my favorite films- Once.

Once Series, originally uploaded by rgmu11.

At the beginning of the film, the man was singing his song by the night street. The camera zoomed closer and closer, and the man’s voice got higher and more emotional. The repeated ” Say it to me now” was like an undless call and hope for being told honestly.

Say it to me now

I’m scratching at the surface now
And I’m trying hard to work it out
So much has gone misunderstood
This mystery only leads to doubt
And I didn’t understand
When you reached out to take my hand
And if you have something to say
You’d better say it now

Cause this is what you’ve waited for
Your chance to even up the score
And as these shadows fall on me now
I will somehow

Cause this is what you’ve waited for
A chance to even up the score
And as these shadows fall on me now
I will somehow

Cause I’m picking up a message Lord
And I’m closer than I’ve ever been before

So if you have something to say
Say it to me now
Say it to me now
Say it to me now
